Dharmam ("we", "our", "the app") is a devotional companion built with reverence for your practice and your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Dharmam, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to deliver a calm, personal experience:

Account information — when you register, we collect your name, email address and a securely hashed password. You may also sign in via Apple or Google.
Saadhana data — your Japa counts, Dhyāna sessions, prayer streaks, scripture progress and chosen mantras. This is stored to power your journey.
Device data — operating system, device model, app version and crash logs to keep the app stable.
Optional location — only if you grant permission, to compute Panchāng (tithi, sunrise, sunset, muhūrta) accurate to your region.

2. How we use your information

To create and secure your account.
To save your prayer history, streaks and preferences across devices.
To deliver accurate Panchāng, festival reminders and daily verses.
To diagnose crashes and improve the app.
To communicate important account or service updates.

3. What we do not do

We do not sell your data — ever.
We do not show third-party advertising inside Dharmam.
We do not share your saadhana data with anyone outside our service providers.

4. Service providers

We use trusted infrastructure providers to host our servers, send transactional email, and monitor crashes. These providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality and only as necessary to operate Dharmam.

5. Data security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing. Communication with our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). While no system is perfectly secure, we apply reasonable safeguards to protect your information.

6. Data retention & deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us at privacy@dharmam.app. Upon deletion, your personal data and saadhana history are permanently removed within 30 days, except where law requires retention.

7. Children's privacy

Dharmam is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Reach us at privacy@dharmam.app to exercise these rights.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Dharmam evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the latest version.
